Preparing for the arrival of your baby

The arrival of a baby is an extraordinary adventure, full of laughter, stress and, above all, love. Don't panic, future super-parents! We've put together a simple, practical and fun guide to welcoming your new bundle of joy.

1 Baby's room: welcome to his kingdom!

Create a cocoon worthy of a fairy tale

The cradle: the royal throne

Your baby deserves the best. Choose a secure crib with a firm mattress (and no, the soft cloud is for later). And because there will be a few accidents (spoiler alert: lots of accidents), be sure to use washable fitted sheets. Little extras? An adorable mobile for nights filled with sweet dreams.

The swing: the zen must-have

Ah, the swing! A real jewel to soothe your baby when he decides that sleep is overrated. Choose a model that rocks gently, with soothing music. Bonus? It blends in perfectly with your Scandinavian decor.

Smart organization for an easier life

  • The bed: OK, make sure it's safe and pretty. But don't forget to add a soft sleeping bag for cooler nights.
  • Decoration: Go for soft, soothing colors, and don't forget a few personal touches like photo frames or a string of lights for a “wow” effect.
  • Storage: A practical changing table? Check. Soft armchair for cuddling? Double check. Baskets to store everything? You'll love it.

2. The essentials: the Zen parents' checklist

Don't worry, we've made the list for you. Everything you need, nothing more. To dress your little one (and melt with love)

  • Bodysuits: In soft cotton, of course.
  • Pyjamas: Because we want him to be as comfortable as he is adorable.
  • Hats and socks: We cover the ends (and take lots of photos).

. Bath and toilet

  • A small, snug-fitting bathtub (and a plastic duck, because why not?).
  • Soft wipes, water thermometer and moisturizer.
  • A care kit with nail clippers, a baby fly (yes, it's glamorous) and a soft brush.

. For meals (the royal feast)

  • Breastfeeding: Ergonomic cushion and nursing pads.
  • Feeding bottles : Simple, effective bottles, a sterilizer and the milk recommended by your pediatrician.

. For walks (and naps)

  • A practical (and lightweight - your arms will thank you) stroller.
  • A safety-compliant car seat

Back home: mission zenitude

      • This is when things get real. But don't panic
      • Prepare home-cooked meals to freeze (there's nothing like a good meal when you're running out of energy).
      • Organize your space: Make sure everything has its place (and stays there, if possible).
      • Delegate: A washing machine running late? A visit to prepare? Let your loved ones do the work.
